DocSats ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services at docsats.com and app.docsats.com.
When using our AI will creation service, you provide personal information including your name, address, date of birth, family information, asset descriptions, and beneficiary designations. This information is used solely for generating your estate planning documents.
When you create an account or make a purchase, we collect your email address and payment information. Payment processing is handled by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers.
We use Google Analytics to collect standard usage data including IP address (anonymized), browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on site. This data helps us improve our Service.
DocSats is built with privacy as a core principle.
Client-Side Encryption: Your estate planning documents are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM encryption before they ever leave your device. DocSats servers never see or store your unencrypted document content.
Key Splitting: Your encryption key is split using Shamir's Secret Sharing into multiple shares distributed to your beneficiaries. No single party (including DocSats) can decrypt your documents alone.
Bitcoin Inscription: Only a small proof object (~150 bytes) is inscribed on Bitcoin, containing an IPFS content identifier, a document hash, and a timestamp. No personal information is ever written to the blockchain.
IPFS Storage: Your encrypted (unreadable) document is stored on IPFS. Without the encryption keys, this data is meaningless.
We use your information to:
• Generate your estate planning documents during the AI-guided conversation
• Process your payment
• Send you your completed documents
• Provide customer support
• Improve our Service through anonymized analytics
• Send transactional emails (receipts, document delivery)
We do NOT use your personal estate planning information for advertising, marketing, AI model training, or any purpose other than generating your documents.
DocSats never collects or asks for:
• Social Security numbers
• Bank account numbers or financial account numbers
• Passwords or authentication credentials for other services
• Credit card numbers (handled entirely by Stripe)
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with:
Anthropic (Claude AI): Your responses during the will creation conversation are sent to Anthropic's API to generate your documents. Anthropic's data retention policies apply. We recommend reviewing Anthropic's privacy policy.
Stripe: Payment information is processed by Stripe under their privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance.
Pinata (IPFS): Only encrypted (unreadable) document data is stored through Pinata's IPFS pinning service.
Google Analytics: Anonymized usage data is shared with Google for analytics purposes.
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
Conversation data used to generate your documents is not permanently stored on our servers. Encrypted documents on IPFS and proof inscriptions on Bitcoin are permanent by design. Account information and payment records are retained as required by tax and business regulations.
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all communications, client-side AES-256-GCM encryption for documents, secure API key management, and regular security reviews. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format
Note: Data inscribed on Bitcoin cannot be deleted due to the immutable nature of blockchain technology. However, this data contains no personal information — only cryptographic proof metadata.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@docsats.com.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your data, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
Our Service is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
We use essential cookies for site functionality and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
